Gust has two photo-based AI tools: Fridge Scan identifies ingredients in your fridge, and Eat Out Advisor picks the highest-protein dishes from a restaurant menu photo.
Scan your fridge
Open the Pantry tab.
Tap Scan Fridge.
Take up to 3 photos of your fridge contents.
Tap Identify.
Gust returns a list of ingredients it recognized. Tap each one to add it to your pantry, edit the quantity, or remove it.
Tips for better recognition:
Open the fridge wide. Don't zoom into one shelf.
Move items so labels are visible where possible.
Good lighting helps a lot.
Scan a restaurant menu
Open Gust at the restaurant.
Tap Eat Out (or the menu scan icon on the home tab).
Take a photo of the menu.
Tap Analyze.
Gust ranks the dishes by estimated protein content and flags the ones that fit your diet.
Tips:
Capture the entire menu page in frame.
Watch for glare. Tilt slightly if you see reflections.
Multi-page menus: take separate photos for each page.
Weekly limits
Both features have per-week limits to manage AI costs:
Fridge Scan: 10 per week.
Eat Out Advisor: 15 per week.
Limits reset weekly. You'll see remaining usage on each screen.
Recognition isn't perfect
If something is misidentified, tap it in the result list and either fix the name or remove it. Submitting corrections also helps us improve the model over time.
Still need help?
If a scan fails to upload or returns no results, tap Contact Support and include the photo (we'll review on our end).
