How do I change my dietary preferences?

Update your dietary preferences and the next plan Gust generates will respect them.

Update your dietary preferences and the next plan Gust generates will respect them.

Where to change them

  1. Tap the Profile tab.

  2. Tap Edit Diet (or the diet card).

  3. Toggle the diets that apply to you (vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, and so on).

  4. Tap Save.

Excluding specific ingredients

For finer control β€” say, you eat fish but hate cilantro β€” use ingredient exclusions:

  1. Profile β†’ Ingredient Exclusions.

  2. Search for the ingredient.

  3. Tap the toggle to exclude it.

Excluded ingredients are blocked from new plans, AI-generated recipes, and grocery suggestions.

When changes take effect

  • Next plan generation picks up the new preferences automatically.

  • The current week's plan doesn't update retroactively. If you want it refreshed, swap individual meals or wait for next week.

Allergens vs. preferences

Allergens are treated more strictly than preferences. If you mark a food as an allergen, Gust filters it out of every recipe, pantry suggestion, and AI-generated meal β€” no exceptions.

Still seeing meals you don't want?

If a recipe you can't eat keeps appearing:

  1. Tap the recipe.

  2. Tap Swap to replace it.

  3. Open Ingredient Exclusions and add the offending ingredient.

If exclusions still don't catch it, tap Contact Support with the recipe name and we'll fix the tagging.
